Existing users of Sage Payroll will not be surprised to know that the main focus of the new Sage Payroll is around the HMRC Real Time Information (RTI) scheme. However the new Sage Payroll, as well as having updates applied to the reporting and help files goes further than just being RTI compliant.

Real Time Information (RTI)

With the Real Time Information (RTI) scheme being one of the biggest changes in the PAYE system since it was introduced employers are advised to start preparing now to ensure they meet the compliance prior to the mandatory date of October 2013.

Whilst previous versions of Sage Payroll will ensure compliance to the RTI the new Sage Payroll goes a step further in aiding users in the migration and guiding you all the way through the Payroll process.

The RTI Centre has been developed within the new Sage Payroll to assist employers through each stage of the RTI migration including:-

RTI Employee Verification Reports

One of the key steps in preparing for RTI migration is ensuring that employee records are up to date and that mandatory employee information is held. The new Sage Payroll includes an RTI Employee Details Verification Report which can be distributed to all employees, capturing the correct data prior to RTI migration.

Health Check

Also included into the new Sage Payroll is the Health Check facility which checks against RTI compliance and highlights against missing and required information on employees.

Other Improvements

Other improvements wrapped into the new Sage Payroll include easier and quicker access to help and guidance with updated help files and links to Sage On-line as well as the reporting interface helping users get the most out of the information held within the data.

Quick and up to date Help

The “Sage Help” feature has been updated with on-line link direct to Sage for up to date on-line help files and information.

Show Me How

A new feature introduced into the new Sage Payroll is the “Show Me How” dynamic support feature. Presented when a user first logs into Sage Payroll and accessible from the main menu, the “Show Me How” feature provides comprehensive guidance on statutory payments and holidays linking to help files and the HMRC site.

Refreshed Reports Interface

The reporting interface has been greatly improved making it easier to identify which build in reports provide you with the information you may need as well as the “Quick Preview” function, allowing you to preview the report before you run it as well as allowing you to collate all your favourite reports into one place for future ease.

Report Customisation

For those users who need to modify an existing report or layout or create one from scratch the report designer has been refreshed making it easier to add images or additional fields as well as also including the refreshed “Help Files”.

Email Integration

Getting Sage to integrate with email programs such as Microsoft Outlook has been difficult to master.
